SaferDeli project officially kicked-off in Athens, Greece, on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th of January 2024!
The meeting was held at the premises of the Project Coordinator at the University of West Attica. All project partners actively participated in the Kick-off Meeting and vivid discussions were realized both on technical and on thematic issues of the project. The partners met in person for the first time! The meeting was a success and fruitful outcomes arose. University of West Attica (Project Coordinator) hosted the meeting. TPCT Consulting & Events traveled from Cyprus, University of Maribor from Slovenia, Split Technical High School for Transport and Logistics from Croatia and ALOT S.r.l. from Italy.
Day 1: The first day of the meeting started with an entertaining ice-breaking session. Afterwards, a presentation by University of West Attica was delivered including the main points of the project in terms of objectives, activities, expected results, along with basic road safety worldwide facts as well as relevant EU regulations. Emphasis was given on the risks and hazards for delivery riders. The aim of the session was to introduce all participants to the project and to present an introductory overview of the general topic as well.
Then, the presentation of the local context of each partner took place including road safety data, first approach on good practices and current regulations regarding delivery professionals (motorcyclists, cyclists, e-scooter riders).
Day 2: The second day of the meeting started with a detailed presentation that explained the logical framework, work-plan and timeline of the project. Then, each session was focused on one Work Package. All activities were presented and analyzed adopting the following process: first, a presentation on each activity was delivered by the Activity Leader according to the agenda, and then any issues to be clarified per activity were discussed.
